Additional considerations

The research shows that counseling can be effective in decreasing negative mental health outcomes, and increasing resiliency and positive coping skills. That being said, much of your success in counseling is based on your readiness, willingness to grow, and intentionally implement changes within your life. Another big piece of therapeutic success is actually the therapeutic relationship itself, so it is important that clients collaborate with a therapist they feel is a good fit for them.

We will take one to two sessions to complete our intake together. We’ll discuss your rights as a client and the informed consent documentation. We will make sure your questions are answered, and assess whether you and I may be a good fit. Next I’ll gather information about your biological, psychological, and social history, and get a sense of what leads you to seek support at this time.

I contract with Mindful Therapy Group for administrative support like intake scheduling and billing services, as well as a physical office space in Fort Collins. For support related to insurance or billing, reach out to the administrative staff.

My late cancellation policy is that a minimum of 24 hours notice be given in order to avoid a late cancellation fee. The fee for sessions cancelled less than 24 hours notice is not covered by insurance.

For clients using Open Path to access services, direct billing questions directly to Claire.

Sessions are 53 minutes in length. The total amount of sessions you have will be based on your needs and progress. I am a firm believer that clients are in charge of their own healing journeys. Clients themselves determine how many sessions they need. You may terminate treatment at any time.
